NLR 503 is a caustic liquid membrane cleaner containing a mixture of surfactants and chelating agents. This formulation contains no phosphates, borates or silicates making it a desirable cleaner in areas such as Europe, where there are restrictions on phosphate-based cleaners. Like NLR 505, this unique cleaner targets organics, biological components, lignins, dyes and oil & grease.

NLR 503 is typically used in a 2-3% concentration resulting in a pH of 11.0-11.5. It is compatible with most microfiltration, ultrafiltration, nanofiltration and reverse osmosis membranes.

NLR 503 can be paired with NLR 404 when a more comprehensive two-stage cleaning is necessary. This may be used successfully with waste streams that contain a variety of foulants.

The liquid formula is ideal for automated CIP systems with chemical dosing and allows for ease of handling.
